We once rescued a cat as well, Just. She is the cat that would dance for crisps, the one I have spoken about here who loved my hubby so. She was just past weaning, but had been left on her own on this hot, waterless yard. We decided she needed to get out of there so we "liberated" her. She never grew to full size, but she was the smartest cat we ever had.

I think cats that have had to live as strays have to be clever just to survive. George has settled in with us very happily, but he makes it clear that he is my cat, if my husband sits next to me George squeezes himself in between us!

All my cats apart from the most recent two have been rescue cats. I guess
I'm a soft touch!

We had one who had obviously been kept confined in a msall space & she was
absolutely terrified of small spaces as a result. I never, in the whole time
I had her, managed to get her to the vet. Even when the vet gave me
tranquilisers to give her in advance, she still woke and fought me tooth and
claw when I tried to get her in the cat box. In the end I decided it was
kinder not to bother & she lived happily with no injections.
